Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I want to explore more at SBBC. What should I do?

A. Worship gatherings are just the beginning at SBBC. To really begin connecting with new people and taking the next steps in your spiritual journey, look through the web site, on Facebook, e-mail or call the church. You are invited to take part in all we do here at SBBC.

To discuss how you can locate a small group and/or volunteer opportunity that is right for you, contact the church office.

Q. When is your weekly Sunday Service?

A. We have two Sunday services at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., with a half-time from 10:15 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. Both services last approximately 65 minutes, making it very accessible for families with young children.

Q. What should I do with my children?

A. During both of our regular Sunday morning services, we offer two children's programs - the Nursery and Kingdom Kids.  Our church nursery is for infants up to the age of 3 and Kingdom Kids is for children from age 4 up to grade 5.  Caring staff, volunteers, and faithful leaders can direct you to the appropriate location for you and your family. For more information see our Programs link.

Q. What should I wear?

A. Whatever you feel comfortable in. Even our most formal members wear “business casual” during the summer, and our least formal folks are known to wear shorts, jeans, and flip flops. Right from the start we want you to know SBBC is about who you are on the inside, not what you look like on the outside.

Q. Where can I park?

A. Lots of places! Parking is available on the side and at the back of the church, but even if the “good spots” all look taken, there’s usually room in our neighbouring Knights of Columbus parking lot. If you are having any difficulty at all in locating a spot or in finding where you want to go, our Parking Lot Greeter is available to answer questions just like yours. Don’t be shy!  From our parking lot, you can use the glass door entrance at the back of the building or either door at the front.  If you require accessible parking there are several spaces available at the back parking lot.  There is also a ramp at the front and an elevator available through the back glass doors.

Q. What will I be expected to do in a worship service?

A. First, we promise you won’t be embarrassed or pressured to give money or to join the church, so relax and focus on experiencing worship. We’ll be singing songs to express our love for God, and the words will be on screen so you can sing along if you want to.
You may also see Christian sacraments such as baptism or communion, and we’ll be sure to explain what they mean so you won’t feel out of the loop.

One of Our Pastors will share a relevant message, often combined with thought-provoking video clips or drama throughout the service, to enable you to discover new truths that help you see life from God’s point of view as well as to celebrate what SBBC is actively engaged in. We encourage you to take notes, and check what we are saying against the Bible for yourself.

Q. What about communion?

A. We typically celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month. You are more than welcome to join us in this time of reflection and thanksgiving.
